Sky, you are an upside-down
ocean of strange singing fish:
sadhonking Vs of geese,
swifts dropping like anchors,
cloud corals, vapourtrail
weeds and blooms,
winking star ships.

You copy the seas in stained-ink
shades and cover the sun
with crimson and rose.

Your voice fumbles and melts
into thunder, turns to plane roar,
bird cry, messages from the other
side of the world in different
languages. Your yellow
luminosity lightens our
slow swimming,
our onward journey.
